ISO 13779-4 Adhesive strength HAP*

ISO 13779 specifies a static test of the adhesion strength of hydroxyapatite (HAP) coatings. Analog to ASTM F1147 a cylinder with a coated end is bonded to a non-coated end of a cylinder. The bonded layer is aligned normally to the load axis of the testing machine. The samples are suspended by a double cardan joint to ensure pure tensile stress. With the maximum force measured and the diameter of the cylinder the adhesion strength of the coating is calculated. 

10 valid samples are needed to pass according to ISO guidelines.
